Please Read the Following Information Carefully:
To be considered for the Cohen Student Leadership Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Enrollment Status: Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students at any UConn campus.
- Involvement in a Registered Student Organization (RSO):
At the time of their notable activity or accomplishment—and at the time of nomination—students must have held active membership in a registered student organization.- Preference will be given to students affiliated with RSOs that do not receive student fee support.
- Activity Requirements:
- Eligible activities must be directly connected to the nominee’s involvement in a registered student organization.
- Activities must be concrete, identifiable, and of significance to the causes of eliminating bigotry, prejudice, and discrimination, and fostering tolerance and understanding.
- Activities may be one-time events, ongoing initiatives, or long-term commitments.
- Financial Need: Nominees must have a demonstrated financial need.
- Academic and Conduct Standing:
- Nominees must not have been on academic or conduct-related probation at the time of the notable activity/accomplishment.
- Nominees must not be on conduct-related probation during the current semester or while participating in the scholarship program.
- Organization Status:
- At the time of the activity/accomplishment, the RSO must have been registered with the University for at least six continuous months.
- The RSO must have been in good standing—without conduct-related issues—both at the time of the activity and at the time of nomination.
Note: The qualifying activity must be directly tied to the nominee’s participation in a registered student organization.
