About Scholarship

Cohen Scholarship

The Cohen Student Leadership Scholarship is one of the largest undergraduate scholarships at the University of Connecticut, open to students at all University of Connecticut campuses. It is awarded to multiple undergraduate members of registered student organizations who have demonstrated a strong and sustained commitment to combating bigotry, prejudice, and discrimination, while actively fostering tolerance and understanding within the campus community through their involvement. This prestigious award recognizes and supports student leaders whose efforts have made a meaningful impact on campus inclusivity.

Mission

More than a scholarship, the Cohen Student Leadership Scholarship is a lasting legacy of student advocacy and social justice at UConn. Recipients join a distinguished network of past scholars who have made meaningful impacts on campus and beyond. As part of this honor, recipients participate in two key events: the Cohen Banquet, where the award is formally presented, and the Cohen Day of Service, which brings current and past recipients together for community service and to build connections around shared values of equity and inclusion. The scholarship recognizes and celebrates students whose leadership advances social justice, advocacy, and community.
